Simplified Access: Single Sign-On (SSO) for HiBid Bidders

Since launching in Q4, SSO has further accelerated new user sign-ups, lifting year-over-year performance by another 10%

The login and registration process sets the tone for the entire bidding experience. It’s the moment when users first engage with the platform. Every click, form field, or verification step shapes how they perceive the auction.

During peak bidding periods, this stage can feel especially high-pressure. Bidders are eager to join in, explore catalogs, and place their bids. Any delays or confusion not only create frustration, but also puts their ability to win a specific item at risk.

HiBid now offers Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing bidders to create new accounts as well as log in using their Google, Apple, or Meta (formerly Facebook) credentials. This update streamlines authentication across both web and mobile, making it faster and easier for users to access auctions and start bidding. Since launch, tens of thousands of new bidders have been registering on HiBid each day with this new feature.

Single Sign-On (SSO) dramatically simplifies the flow of the sign-up experience. Instead of a series of separate steps or unfamiliar forms, it becomes a smooth introduction into the auction environment, setting the stage for an engaging and uninterrupted experience.

How SSO Improves the Bidder Experience

Single Sign-On addresses several common challenges in the bidder login process:

Faster first bids: Streamlined registration enables new bidders to move from sign-up to bidding with less friction.

Reduced login drop-off: Fewer steps and a familiar login experience help more users access the catalog and remain engaged.

Simplified account access: Fewer forgotten password issues and a smoother login process for repeat participation.

Results That Matter

Single sign-on is being broadly embraced and is helping push forward the growth of the overall marketplace. Since launching in Q4, year-over-year new bidder sign-ups increased by another 10%+ compared to the year prior.

More bidders are accessing their accounts on the first try, exploring catalogs, and placing their first bids with ease. When getting started feels effortless, it encourages them to come back again and again, creating a more active and engaged audience. For auctioneers and resellers, that means more eyes on their items, stronger competition, and better outcomes from every auction. This update is part of our ongoing effort to build a platform that works well for everyone and is continually growing.
